Inside a garbage dump in Nakuru, Kenya resides the Gioto Slum. The people there, overwhelmingly women & children, live in appalling conditions, deprived of access to clean water for daily living & often eating out of the same garbage they live beside.
The LOV Movement has partnered with local organizer Reverend Anthony Njoroge & NEEMA Childcare (NGO) to provide two programs to improve the lives of the people of Gioto. We sponsor a weekly drop off of clean water, filling up the slum’s tanks to ensure the people there have an ongoing supply of clean water to drink, wash, and cook with. As well as a program for some of the oldest people in the slum, who are no longer able to work, supplying them weekly with the nutritious foods needed for their survival.
